I got the wonton with chili sauce (finger licking good), mapo tofu (great flavor, kind of my litmus test for northern Chinese ) and the shredded pork with green peppers (top notch). Dishes from Chengdu Taste | 滋味成都 are created using a technique that involves poaching chicken, fish, and beef in savory oil, leaving them with an extremely tender texture. We feel their menu deserves more respect and attention, thus we will be doing a sit down meal and really diving in. All the food was spicy but not overpowering and I get what everyone was saying about the spice being numbing.

Chengdu Taste has grown massively since first opening in Alhambra in 2013, adding locations in Las Vegas, Honolulu, and Houston. I had to order extra rice because it's spicy, but we just couldn't stop eating! To deceive the chains of Chengdu taste, one must do some research before dining here, I saw some reviews complain about the type of spice used in this restaurant, and all I can say is, look up at dishes are used in Chengdu, China and be warned for the "mouth numbing" spices. It was the most delicious meal we had.

We ordered the 'Boiled Sliced Fish in Hot Sauce,' 'Sautéed (yushung) Eggplant,' 'Mung Bean Jelly Noodle with Chili Sauce,' 'Fried Chicken with Chili (crispy),' and 'Griddle Cooked Chicken with Mix Veg. My family and I love spicy foods especially Szechuan style dishes. Our go to dishes are the mapo tofu, toothpick lamb (we weren't sure why there were toothpicks - until we thought maybe it was a good way to keep track of the greedy ones in our party!
