area. 1 h 52 m Moon Country Loop via McCallum Trail is a 4.1 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Thousand Palms, California that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. McCallum Grove is formed by underground water that makes it way up through many cracks in the San Andreas fault. No geocaches are allowed on the preserve. It is slightly uphill, but not very strenuous. Takes you through the Thousand Palms Oasis and out to McCallum Pond.When you leave the visitor’s center you will pass through the lush vegetation of Thousand Palms Oasis.
