Evening Entertainment: Had such an amazing day yesterday at our wedding at the Butley Priory. I don't know how other people find Butley Priory (it doesn't feature in the guide books) but I have my friend Penny, who lives nearby, to thank for alerting me to this delightful, one-off place.
We can not praise or thank Emma at Butley enough, she was incredibly helpful, nothing was too much hassle and she was incredibly calm and organised on the day. The rooms in the priory are stunning but also comfy, warm and inviting.
We loved every minute. Butley priory is a really magical place for a wedding.

I mentioned this to a member of staff at the time and they said "well it is an old priory". They have taken weeks to respond to my claim for damage and now tell me that their insurance company will not pay for the damage and that I have to use my own insurer. Once a 14C Augustinian monastery, and later much loved by Mary Tudor, the house has often been called "the most romantic house in England." Butley Priory is a privately owned family house, complete with wedding licence which means that you can both get married and have the most wonderful party of your life in these fabulous surroundings.
