Whether you choose our ballroom, either of our two theatres, ... Our majestic Olympian Ballroom, with banquet seating for 900, has a mezzanine balcony about its perimeter. We didn't have to worry about a thing. We received many compliments from our guests about the beautiful set up. The food tasting was delicious and plan on the wedding dinner to be just as delicious! Our reception was held in the Olympian Ballroom - we hosted around 200 people, and I can tell you almost every single one of those people talked about how beautiful the space was and how GOOD the food was.

My husband and I used The Athenaeum for both our ceremony and reception. I was looking forward to the wedding because the pictures on the venue website looked spectacular. She was able to help us stay within budget, but throw a fantastic party! From the onset of our planning process, Gina and The Athenaeum staff were nothing but courteous and professional. They brought us snacks and a drink and made us feel like nothing else mattered to them but that.
It's full of history, and beauty, and I have not seen anything like it before.
We were given the low season discount and another large discount (for room rental) for signing within 48hrs. Ann was our event coordinator and she was absolutely incredible! It perfectly fit our vintage, classic theme. The space we utilized was the large theater room.

My fiancé (now husband) and I wanted to find the perfect venue for our dream vintage, downtown Columbus wedding, and from the moment we toured the Olympian Ballroom at the Columbus Athenaeum, we knew we had found the perfect venue for our reception!! I say it only to emphasize how great the Center Of Science and Industry really is. The people are so nice. Violeta Garcia Marenco Arreglos. The Oak Room is an original part of the historical building. Everything went off without a flaw and if it didn't well I did not know it :) My husband and I are already so excited because we get to go back this weekend for another friends wedding and experience it as guests which I'm sure will be a treat :)
Guests were blown away, everyone just kept taking about how beautiful it was and how amazing the food was. The venue was absolutely perfect! I know there are high school proms, and weddings at this venue, obviously in larger rooms. Jackie was our coordinator and she was absolutely phenomenal. They were very helpful with the planning our perfect night.
Our wedding coordinator was wonderful and I loved working with her! The decorations were beautiful and tasteful and the whole night ran so smoothly!
The staff are all kind, and easy to work with.
They each were very responsive via email and helped us as we planned a wedding from out of town. We reserved the space over a year in advance, right before I left on a deployment with the Army.
The food tasting was delicious and very well done. The Athenaeum is a truly remarkable place. The place even smelled like sewer gas inside. Can't wait to see Justin Furstenfeld in August.
