The dialogue is fast-paced and unforgiving, a pseudo-Aaron-Sorkin-esque affair that demands the utmost attention and threatens to leave the audience behind in the initial minutes. Bottom line is don't waste your time on this tripe. Chastain, an alumnus of Juilliard and no stranger to Shakespeare, handles the wordplay effortlessly, eventually allowing us to sit back and watch the dynamics unfold.The film’s strongest element is Elizabeth Sloane’s deeply flawed and emotionally charged personality.
She is played by Mia Sara. There’s nothing more unstable than the political eggshell that is gun control, and Miss Sloane knows it.Bringing a leading character just as unstable to the fight, the film pulls punches on both sides of the argument and occasionally leaves its audience reeling. John Lithgow rounds it out as Congressman Ron M. Sperling, who comes into the mix after Sloane’s old colleagues try to catch her out for bribery and corruption. Jessica Chastain is one of my favourite film actresses of this generation and she excels in this polished film about the corruption of political lobbying in Washington DC. Michael Stuhlbarg does well too. In the high-stakes world of political power-brokers, Elizabeth Sloane (Jessica Chastain) is the most sought after and formidable lobbyist in D.C. Now this movie is a comnpete surprise. A must see, and I am so glad I stumbled upon this gem! I cannot say too much about how the character of ‘Miss Sloane’ and her career develop without giving away the plot.

Miss Sloane is the new political drama/thriller directed by John Madden that stars Jessica Chastain, Mark Strong, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw. But when she takes on the most powerful opponent of her career, she finds that winning may come at too high a price. First watched it on Prime, then bought the DVD and watched it again. How real-life lobbyists inspired Jessica Chastain’s ‘Miss Sloane’ character. The events depicted seem unlikely to happen, but the story gives insight into lobbyists and politicians and the great variety of groups that give money to ensure a positive vote for their interests. Well worth looking at. She is as ruthless as Lady Macbeth, if I can be so bold as to make two Shakespeare references in as many paragraphs. If you want to watch a bunch of anti-bill of rights Hollywood douche-bags spew their liberal agenda then this is the movie for you! "Miss Sloane was actually somewhat based on my own mother," the screenwriter told Zach Laws of Gold Derby. I read a couple reviews that didn't like this movie because of what they perceived as partisan politics, and what I have to say to that is to just enjoy the movie, don't let your personal politics get in the way.
